Frequent

A public transport system is very much more attractive if vehicles leave frequently allowing people to ‘turn up and go’. Interchanges between vehicles also work much better where there are frequent vehicles. Given the relatively low vehicle occupancy for express coaches when compared to trains this results in a higher service frequency.

100 people per hour (41 minutes between vehicles)
200 people per hour (20 minutes between vehicles)
1000 people per hour (4 minutes between vehicles)

As the number of passengers increases it will be possible to implement destination dispatch algorithms to reduce delays caused by intermediate stops and increasing the utilisation of vehicles which will reduce fares.
